FAQ

Every day on Twitter I am asked a number of questions, often the same ones over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...you get the idea. I thought this would be a good place to answer all of those questions quickly and properly. So here we go.

Where do you get the clips from?

The sites I recommend visiting to download football matches (and various clips) are - RojaDirecta, Pakman's Footy BlogTiki-Taka and Footylounge.

Why doesn't the video work on my phone, iPad etc. ?

Sometimes when I upload a video to Youtube the music will be copyrighted by them and, for some reason, they then decide that that particular video cannot be viewed on all mobile devices. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about that so I suggest getting onto your PC or Laptop if you're desperate to see the video!

Why can't I view the video despite being on my PC/Laptop?

Youtube are a funny bunch and, sometimes, they will block videos in certain countries but not in others. If you are unfortunate enough to be in one of those countries (Germany seems to be one of the unlucky ones) then, once again, there is nothing I can do unfortunately.

What's your Youtube name?

My main Youtube account is  http://www.youtube.com/cwdcomps but I also have - www.youtube.com/MrCWDailyGooner, www.youtube.com/CWDProds and www.youtube.com/CWDComps0910.The amount of Youtube accounts I have is due to Youtube's strict copyright policy. I need more than one to stay alive!

What do you use to create your videos?

I use a program called Sony Vegas 10.

How do you go about avoiding copyright on Youtube?

There is no surefire way but I do the following and just hope it helps:

- Put this passage in my video description - "Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use."

- Use pan/crop in Sony Vegas to ensure none of the TV logos are viewable on the video.

- Apply the Brightness/Contrast and Magic Bullet FX from Sony Vegas 10.

- Do not use any very popular songs. For example, Kanye West is a surefire way to get your video taken down.

I think that's all for now, drop me a comment if there's one I've missed out!

    1. I do not, that's part of the reason I have set up the Donate button but money is not my motivation - Arsenal is.

    1. Yep. All the videos on here are just embedded versions of the Youtube video itself. They'll be going onto Youtube and then being embedded on this site!

  5. As you certainly know, we can't go to Pakmans Footy Blog anymore. I used it to get my clips from here, I know there's other web site but I need this one. Have you an idea of how can I do to go to site again ? Thanks!

  6. My videos keep getting blocked, is it because i went through a run of uploading the same video with tv and score logos in the compilation and it kept getting blocked, now i have removed the TV logos but they might be tracking my account?

  7. Any particular reason why you use Sony Vegas 10 as opposed to the latest software of Vegas 12?
